8 Quick Apply Full-time 5 hours ago Full Job Description This position involves responsibility for performing a variety of clerical duties in support of the Adult Education as well as advising and assisting adult education students with the application process for aid for tuition for CiTi courses.
The incumbent works with federal, state, and local agencies in coordinating aid disbursement and provides financial aid information and services to secondary students and the general public.
PRIMARY WORK ACTIVITIES:
Advises and assists candidate and students with FAFSA application; Reviews financial aid application to calculate Pell and Loan award; Works with third parties offering funding/aid to students; Creates and monitors payment plans of students in the Title-IV eligible programs; Corresponds routinely with clients and community vis phone, email and walk-in; Greets and directs visitors; Operates office equipment; Acts as a liaison within the agency and with other agencies, vendors and community; Enters and maintains various student data; Compiles and creates weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as assigned; Maintains financial aid handbook and ensures compliance with Title IV regulations; Corresponds with students regarding payment plans; Disburses aid funds; Processes financial aid terminations and provides necessary information to the students; Collects and maintains student data and student financial files; Completes reports related to contracts, grants, financial aid, student data, etc.

Job Qualifications MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Must be Civil Service eligible Education, specialized background, training and experience.
A.
Possession of an associates degree or higher in business administration, accounting or related field and one (1) year of professional experience in financial counseling, accounting or auditing; OR B.
Possession of an associates degree or higher and two (2) years of professional experience in financial counseling, accounting or auditing; OR C.
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and four (4) years of professional experience in financial counseling, accounting or auditing; OR D.
An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A, B and C above.
This position will be provisional.
Candidates must take and pass Adult Education Specialist exam and be reachable.
