The Manager - Assembly and Facilities leads the assembly teams, responsible for building complex, high quality, automated machinery supporting industrial and packaging markets.
This leader plays a key role in keeping our site running smoothly.
Responsibilities Providing leadership and technical guidance to the team of supervisors that the position will be responsible for Ensures production material is processed in a high-quality manner while meeting the production schedules Sets manufacturing priorities for assembly taking into account scheduled out dates Manages and develops employee's skills in order to improve efficiency Tracks direct assembly hours, labor and material costs and cycle time for the assembly area Works cross functionally across operations teams including (shipping, receiving, inventory, purchasing, quality, engineering and project management) in order to improve overall processes, methods and systems Ensures that workplace is held to all federal, corporate and site safety standards Responsible for the maintenance of a facility comprised of manufacturing, warehouse, and office space Managing the plant preventive maintenance program, plant hazardous waste stream program, plant safety program, alongside several state and federal regulatory program requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must have clear and confident oral and written communication skills, exceptional project management, and leadership skills that allow for constructive and useful feedback when dealing with subordinates Working to continue building upon a culture of transparency, communication and maintaining a culture of accountability with both our union and non-union team members Providing guidance and support for leaders with in the team, which can include but isn't limited to technical expertise, leadership training and guidance, handling employee relations situations by partnering with the HR manager, as well as encouraging and guiding direct reports through career path discussions as well Assist in succession planning, talent development plans as well as encouraging growth within the team Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or business management A minimum of 7-10 years' relevant experience managing machinery assembly processes An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered Experience managing in a union environment Skills Strong leadership skills related to manufacturing operations Knowledge of automated machinery assembly, materials, processes and equipment Strong organization, prioritization and both oral and written communication skills Strong computer skills as well as ability to learn new programs as needed Understanding of high quality and strives for continuous improvement Manages team of assemblers, maintenance, work leaders / supervisors, and materials stores personnel Coach, counsel and manage performance of direct reports, both union and non-union Education Required Associates or better in Business Administration Preferred Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field Skills Required Time Management Team Player Adaptability Leadership Skills Management skills Organizational Skills Oral and Written Communication Professionalism Problem solving Behaviors Preferred Enthusiastic:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
